This was a great watch..Those of us who love to do DYI projects eat this stuff up. Last winter I bought a 12 ft tracker put a Merc 9.9 and a trolling motor. Down on the southern Colorado River water has become to skinny to run my Lund most days. So, built what I call..The Swamp Donkey. I still have tweaks because of all the noise the aluminum makes in the water. Drives me insane, but it'll get dealt with. Keep em coming. Stay safe

Awesome 💪. I ran a 15hp on my Ol Lowe 12 footer. Operated great, but then i put a 25hp on that jewl. Its been a great duck boat for over 10 years. That boat will hold that 15 well. Take care.

I have four batteries one of them is a lithium battery just for the livescope and the other three to run my trolling motor plus other accessories and one dedicated to the gas motor the other two are ran in parallel still 12-volt system but a deeper well to draw from enjoy the video thanks

I like that boat! I have the same trolling motor on my boat and it's a 1989, i was wanting to replace it but it still works good. Glad you showed labels on it. Mine don't have any info on it beside Evinrude, my direction indicator came off also. It yeeted itself off, as my kids said 😅

It should have a stator on the motor that charges the batteries. Probably why they had the batteries connected, so it would charge them both...

i own the 95 alumacraft 15 ft with the 76 johnson 70 hp i get 42 mph out of her for a little boat she is scary fast but if you want to putt around in 2ft of water this is that boat. love this video

I’m currently binge watching your videos. Right now I’m watching your Alumahawk Paint where you made your own color of tan mixing black & Jon boat green . I love that color! I’m working on my own Jon Boat now , just finished my transom rebuild (almost) using your video techniques . Of course I will be redoing my trailer ( have most all the parts, installed jack , new 2” hitch & have parts including new lights, runners, carpet & all the above. I have a 1986 Cajun Special 14/36 & a 1978 2 stroke 9.8 Mercury motor. Anyway, I have been sharing your UA-cam channel @backwaterboatrehab on my Facebook threads that I follow. Yours is the most informative step by step of any other Jon Boat Channel on UA-cam in my opinion! Thanks for sharing all your content! For you 8 ft jon built video you made last year, will it work on a river. I want to get one to row on, add some lights and ad a mp3 audio system for exercise and fish off it on occasion but mainly row before sun up. I would ask that on your previous video but comments were turned off.

Nice to see you make use of aluminum instead of wood/plywood for everything. A buddy of mine and I both had 12 foot Jon boats and identical 9.9 motors. He decided to put in floors and decks and he completely removed the middle seat (bye, bye flotation). He carpeted everything and then he tried it out on the lake. I followed him in my boat just in case of any problems. His boat was so heavy it wouldn't get up on plane. Thinking it might be a motor issue, we swapped motors. Nope, same thing. Mine would plane, but his wouldn't. I wonder how many "custom builds" out there had the same issues with all wood builds, but they never showed it running on the water?
